Officials for Edge Technologies have announced the appointment of Tom Flowers as the new Southeast Regional Sales Manager, which includes the states of Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, South and North Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Florida.
Flowers, of Statesville, NC, began his career as an Applications Engineer for the Inverted Router division of manufacturer C.R. Onsrud, Inc. He learned CAD/CAM and machine operation as a necessity to write applications for the company’s Inverted Router product line. While learning the trade he assisted the sales staff, later moving into sales full time and eventually becoming the company’s top salesman.
He was instrumental in growing the company’s fledgling CNC machinery line and due to this rapid expansion the sales team had to grow. Tom was promoted to National Sales Manager and, in addition to fulfilling the needs of an expanding customer base & product portfolio, was tasked with hiring, training, & managing a six man regional sales staff. During his 12 years as sales manager (2000-2012) the company grew from $3 million in revenue to nearly $30 million while still maintaining substantial profit margins.
“After 12 years as a national sales manager overseeing a team, I really missed the day to day “1-on-1” interaction with customers, it was something I really missed”, says Flowers. “Working for Edge Technologies allows me to get back on the road and start building those relationships again.”
“Edge Technologies is very excited to have Tom on board to service our Southern US region”, says Sales & Operations Manager Rick Bauer. “His many years of experience in machine tool sales are a great asset to our bar feeder business”.
