The Organ Care System, developed by TransMedics and used by UCLA surgeons, lets doctors transport organs from the donor to the patient without freezing them; instead, lungs are put in the device and revived to a warm, breathing state.

Revolutionary technology from medical device company TransMedics may mean the end of putting organs on ice.
